Tesla Model Y Juniper (2025): Facelift already experienced live
The new Tesla Model Y is here! Exactly two weeks after its debut in China, the Juniper (the project name) appears in the configurator, but for the time being only in a launch version with a price of 60,990 euros. Of course, cheaper versions will also be launched in the coming weeks.
The Tesla Model Y (2025), which has been completely redesigned, takes over the baton from its predecessor, the best-selling car in the world in 2023. In doing so, it is intended to optimize numerous aspects and pick up on innovations that have been requested by users over the years. Our Italian colleagues have already taken a detailed look at the new device.
Exterior
For two weeks now, nothing else has been talked about in the Tesla forums: The styling of the Tesla Model Y 2025 is the subject of many discussions. The front end, which is inspired by the Cyber family (Cybertruck and Cybercab) and is crossed by a thin light strip divided into three segments, is particularly striking. On the one hand, the new front is supposed to improve forward visibility, while the flat nose also brings aerodynamic advantages. Underneath is a new camera, which has been requested by users to improve forward visibility.

The lateral changes affect the dimensions of the new Tesla Model Y (2025), which increases in length by four centimeters to a total of 4.79 meters. The alloy wheels in 19 or 20 inches were given new designs.
At the rear, there is a very interesting element: the new taillights. Here, too, there is a 1.6-meter-long LED strip (one of the longest in the automotive world, as Tesla points out). However, the light is not emitted directly, but reflected by a special surface. There are aesthetic and protective reasons for this: the LEDs are embedded in a black band that protects them from possible impacts. Also worth mentioning is the redesigned spoiler and diffuser, with the latter protruding from the body to protect it from small impacts.

Dimensions
Model | Length | Width | Height | Wheelbase |

Interior
On the outside, the new Model Y clearly distinguishes itself from the Model 3, which has also been refreshed. Inside, however, the interior of the new Tesla Model Y fully mirrors the styling of the Model 3. And that is still typical of Tesla. In the middle of the dashboard is the touchscreen, which is used to control all functions, but with a slightly increased diagonal of now 15.4 inches (previously 15).
The interface is the same, but engineers have worked on improving the software and connection speeds so you don't have to wait to watch streaming content while it's loading or download OTA updates even faster.
In addition, there are redesigned seats, which are now not only heated but also ventilated, new materials and ambient lighting through a thin LED cable that spans almost the entire passenger compartment. Finally, the steering wheel has also been revised and there is now a classic light switch lever on the left side. The criticized buttons on the left side are now a thing of the past.
As with the rest of the series, the Juniper Model Y is also equipped with an 8-inch screen at the end of the center console. From here, the air conditioning and various multimedia content are controlled. Nice and feature-rich, it's just a shame that the position isn't exactly ergonomic if you want to play a few games of the various arcade games on the system.
Finally, the trunk, which, as mentioned, increases its load volume to 2,138 liters with the rear seat backrests folded down and opens it by electric control. There is no information about the minimum capacity, but it is likely to be over 800 liters.
Drives
As always, Tesla keeps the technical details of its powertrains a secret, and the Model Y (2025) is no exception. What we do know, however, is that the chassis has been updated again along the lines of the Model 3 Highland: stiffer body structure and redesigned suspension.
If we look at the versions for sale in China, we know that for now there are two versions: Standard Range with rear-wheel drive and Long Range with all-wheel drive. The first increases the range from 450 to 466 km (WLTP cycle), the second from 533 to 568 km. The values for the sprint from 0 to 100 have improved: 5.9 seconds for the rear-wheel drive version and 4.3 seconds for the all-wheel drive version. In both, the top speed drops from 217 to 201 km/h.
Prices
As already mentioned, the new Tesla Model Y can only be ordered as a Launch Edition Long Range all-wheel drive at a price starting at 60,990 euros or as a leasing model with a variable term of 24 to 60 months. In the next few weeks, other versions are rumored to be launched, the prices of which have not yet been announced.
With a view to the Chinese market, the price list of the Tesla Model Y (2025) has increased by around 5 percent, which is likely to be the case in this country as well. Prices currently start at 42,690 euros. So it is likely that the new version will have a starting price of just over 44,000 euros.
